Conflict is inevitable in healthcare settings. How leaders navigate disagreement determines whether it becomes destructive or drives positive change. This intensive two-session online workshop equips physicians, surgeons, and healthcare leaders with essential skills to manage conflict constructively, conduct difficult conversations with confidence, and lead teams through challenging situations.

Using the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) and proven communication frameworks, participants gain insight into their conflict tendencies and develop practical strategies for addressing challenging interpersonal dynamics. You'll learn to transform potential conflicts into opportunities for growth, ultimately fostering healthier workplace environments and better patient outcomes.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, participants will:

  • Understand your conflict style using the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) to identify your default approaches and learn when to adapt
  • Master difficult conversations through structured frameworks that maintain relationships while addressing challenging issues
  • Apply evidence-based communication strategies for high-stakes situations including giving critical feedback, addressing performance issues, and navigating team disagreements
